About the Vendor
Stones n Pearls carries forward the legacy of Belle Pietre, the beloved Philadelphia jewelry line founded by Rebecca Carr, a visionary artisan and opera singer known for her handmade stone jewelry. Drawing inspiration from nature, music, and Philadelphia’s rich artistic heritage, Rebecca became known for creating stone bracelets, necklaces, and custom pieces crafted from premium stones and pearls. Her work was deeply personal, often named after operatic heroines, and treasured by those who wore it.
When Rebecca passed from pancreatic cancer, the business was entrusted to her close friend Carole Latimer, a retired opera singer and longtime music educator who taught at The Haverford Boys School. Today, Carole and her daughter, Madeleine Mulder, continue that tradition through Stones n Pearls, honoring Rebecca’s artistry while evolving the work into jewelry designed for everyday life.
An ovarian cancer survivor, Carole creates through a lens of healing and intention. Each piece is one of a kind, crafted with stones chosen for their symbolic energies of strength, peace, confidence, and renewal. The Belle Pietre philosophy lives on—jewelry is more than an accessory; it is a quiet companion, a keeper of memory, and a celebration of life’s meaningful moments. Sharing this work alongside organic, health-conscious goods in our shop is especially meaningful to Carole… and to us.
