SHIFT · 252 Haverford Avenue · Narberth PA 19072

Join us for a dyeing adventure during Narberth’s Lebrechaun Hunt, where little artists and color lovers will explore the magic of natural potion making!

Using plants, flowers, and other nature-based ingredients, we’ll unlock the enchanted hues of the rainbow – just like the leprechauns love!

Each participant will get to choose between a “Rainbow Twist” Scrunchie or a “Magic Mist” Bandana as their canvas before mixing, dipping, and transforming it with natural pigments. Through hands-on experiments, we’ll learn the natural alchemy behind each shade and create a one-of-a-kind lucky charm to take home. Follow the rainbow, and you just might discover a pot of gold hidden in the colors you create!

The $10 fee (per child) will be collected on site and includes:

Dye Kits will also be available to purchase for those who would rather complete a similar activity at home.

Registration

Reserve your space in advance to guarantee materials. Each parent/guardian should use one checkout link to reserve space for all children in their group. Scarf and scrunchie preferences are collected during checkout and should equal the number of ‘tickets’ being reserved under each name.

Because of the hands-on nature of this event, space is limited. Ages 3-12 are welcome to participate.

About the Instructor

Philadelphia-based Carin Sauerwein, owner of Dye on the Side, has been an obsessive master dyer for over 25 years. She specializes in teaching dye workshops that empower creativity, connection, and sustainability with a client list that includes Airbnb, Apple Inc, Athleta, and more.

After becoming a mom during the pandemic, Carin suffered from anxiety caused by extreme stress that was out of her control. She found dyeing from nature was very helpful in clearing her head and calming it. To connect back to the present and create something meaningful has been life changing, inspiring her to share her skills with the community.
