Kitchen Harvest provides bi-weekly residential collection of food scraps and yard waste in the western Philadelphia suburbs, and collects compostables from schools, businesses, restaurants and markets. Additionally, the company offers seasonal produce and seedlings grown on their own property.
Accepted Items
The following items can be used for composting:
- Fruits + Vegetables (peels, pits, leaves, seeds, stems)
- Nuts + Nutshells
- Coffee Grounds + Paper Filters
- Tea Bags (no staples)
- Grains (bread, crackers, cereal, cookies, pasta, flour, rice)
- Egg Shells
- Houseplant Trimmings + Cut Flowers
- Paper Products (napkins, towels, plates)
- Grass clippings
- Flowers, plants and weeds
- Straw and hay
- Yard trimmings (no large, woody branches)
- Leaves
