Adorn yourself in the beauty of the past, the primitive, and the natural world.

This year we are celebrating Mother’s Day by bringing in the mother/daughter jewelry makers behind La Primativa. Bonnie and Jennifer Joseph recently moved to Pennsylvania after years of living in Santa Fe and Los Angeles, respectively, and are delighted to share their ancient, ethnographic, and contemporary adornments.

About the Vendors

La Primativa is a name Bonnie Joseph came up with when she began making necklaces in the early 90’s, becoming fascinated with beads found at the old Santa Fe Flea Market. The stories of the beads from around the world seduced her into creating pieces that combined ethnographic beads and pendants with contemporary stones. Her daughter, Jennifer Joseph—a respected multi-disciplinary artist— brings her eye and hand to the creation of a more minimalist product. As mother and daughter, they hold distinct visions of talismanic adornment and honor all women who adorn themselves in the beauty of the past, the primitive, and the natural world.

Their necklaces have been exhibited and sold in galleries and boutiques throughout the country, including the carft gallery at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
