Guess who’s rolling up to SHIFT with a truckload of compost? That’s right, it’s Mother Compost!
The locally owned curbside compost collectors will be offering a special deal for our amazing SHIFT community and Bin Swap participants! Bagged compost will be available at a 30% discount for only $8.50 per bag.
Why add compost in the Fall? We’re glad you asked!
Applying compost in the fall adds vital nutrients to your soil before winter, helping plants establish strong roots. It improves soil structure, enhances moisture retention, and boosts microbial activity, setting the stage for a vibrant, healthy garden in the spring.
If you have other burning compost questions—like how to start, or where collected food scraps end up—pop inside the shop to say hello! The Mother Compost Team will be on site all day to share how those leftovers get transformed into compost just miles away.
Registration
Please register in advance using the “Register Online” button above to guarantee your desired amount of compost. Reservations must be received by October 11, 2024. More compost will be available on site for those who miss the reservation deadline.
About the Vendor
Mother Compost is a pickup service located on the Main Line in Pennsylvania that collects residential, commercial, and event compost materials. They also offer educational services through speaking engagements, consultations, and their online Compost Coach program.
Their missions is to help educate and empower the community to make sustainable choices. By providing easy access to composting and facilitating educational programming, they hope to encourage more people to think more about wasting less.
